Bold Kindness

So for this look I started off with my Clean and Clear dual action moisturizer, my NYX primer base, and my Neutrogena shine control primer on my oily spots. I wanted a very high coverage for this look so I used the Wet n Wild coverall cream foundation in 816 fair light, a layer of NYX above and beyond full coverage concealer, a layer of Rimmel match perfection in 101 classic ivory, and another layer of NYX concealer on my problem areas before patting on the Cover Girl professional loose powder in 105 translucent fair. I primed my eyes with NYX eyeshadow base and filled my eyebrows with the NYX eyebrow cake powder in ECP06 blonde. My shadows are various shades from the Coastal Scents 252 ultimate eyeshadow palette. My eyebrows are framed with Rimmel soft kohl eyeliner pencil in 071 pure white, Maybelline coverstick concealer in white, with some Revlon oyster metallic blended into the crease colors. For my contour I used Maybelline Fit Me pressed powder in 330 toffee caramel, and Elf blush 40106 tickled pink. Sephora nano in 05 native nude to line and fill my lips with Covergirl outlast lip color in 593. My lashes are the Elf natural lash kit 1713 with my new favorite liner Rimmel gel eyeliner in 001 black, with a coat of Rimmel scandal eyes rockin' curves mascara in 001 black.

This look was inspired by someone I met recently during a very hard time, for personal reasons I won't disclose the terms of the situation. However this woman is the first and only person I met under these circumstances that has ever showed and support, consideration, or concern for anyone but themselves. I wasn't eavesdropping on her conversation but I couldn't help but over hear her phone call, in regards to that it was easy to see that she is reliable and in a way she was way too sweet to deal with what was happening to her. Crystal I know I didn't really talk until this morning but you really made last night bearable by just showing that you don't have to know someone like the back of your hand to show you care. I hope you see this soon and find a way to contact me if you want any beauty procedures done or just to let me know you're okay. Until then I hope I hear from you and to everyone else, enjoy this look and stay tuned for more to come.
With love,
LayneHelen

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Nails

A few years back I did my nails with triforces and spiritual stones from the favored classic Nintendo game, The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time for the N64. Well tonight I realized I need a pedicure dreadfully bad so I recreated my former design. My white polish is old and gunky but once I get acrylic paint they'll look millions of times better. Maybe there will be a tutorial in the future, but for now enjoy my sloppy fan girl toes.

Green and Gold Eyes

So here's my first makeup pictorial for my slightly festive green and gold eye makeup.
~~~~~~~
- Before any look I always apply some Clean and Clear persa- gel 10 Maximum Strength.
- For this look I decided to use two primers. Since I plan on keeping this look all day I used Neutrogena Shine Control Primer to keep my T- zone matte. Then I applied the Sonia Kashuk Primer Base. So far I didn't use any brushes to apply these products. Clean fingertips gets the job done just fine.
- Once my primers were spread evenly and settled I filled in my eyebrows. Normally I never do this but it made the pictures look better. I apply the wax with the angled brush in the NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in blonde (My eyebrows are already so dark and thick I prefer using lighter shades to fill them). With an old Elf angled eye brush I lightly brushed in some of the darker shade, then I used a spool brush to shape my eyebrows how I prefer them.
- After applying my base and brows I used the NYX Above & Beyond full coverage concealer. I used a small concealer brush to spot target some of my problem areas, then I used a slightly larger concealer brush to frame my eyebrows. To blend all of this out I use a dense foundation brush.
 - For my foundation I used a combination of Rimmel Match Perfection in 101 classic ivory and Sonia Kashuk Radiant+ tinted moisturizer in beige. For both of these products I applied them with a small stippling brush and buffed out any streaks with a larger stippling brush.
- Using my new Sonia Kashuk powder brush, that I'm absolutely in love with, I generously swiped on my favorite loose powder, Cover Girl Professional Loose Powder in 105 translucent fair. (My top cracked so excuse the duct tape holding it together.)
- After my face was basically half way done I started on my eyes using my NYX Eyeshadow Base covering my lid and up to my brow bone with another medium sized concealer brush.
- For my base color I used a Maybelline shadow in Forest Green 80S. I patted it onto my lid and then made some shape to use as an outline for later shadows.
- Then in the outer corners/ outer V I packed on the black shade in the Maybelline Eye Studio quad in Sapphire Siren 20 and I gently started blending that into my crease, while also following my 'guide line' I created with the previous green shadow.
- Next I used my Revlon single shadow in Oyster Metallic to get rid of any harsh lines while blending and highlighting my brow bone.
- With my Maybelline The Nudes palette I concentrated the light gold shadow into my inner corners and blended it halfway across my lid, overlapping the green. I also used some of the darker shades to build up more pigmentation in my outer corners.
- To add more definition to my brow arch I used Rimmel's Soft Kohl pencil in 071 pure white, and I simple used my finger tip to blend it along the entire length of my brows.
- Then to further intensify my highlighting I applied Maybelline Cover Stick in white to my inner corners, cupid's bow, and more on the ends of my brows. Once again I didn't use a brush I just used very light pressure to blend it with my fingertips.
- I wasn't satisfied with the light gold so I packed some L'Oreal HIP High Intensity Pigment Metallic Shadow Duo in 806 Gilded, then with the same motions as before I brought that shade half way onto my lid, and blended it into my green shadow.
- To really pack the pigment from my lash line to my water line I used a small fine tipped brush to sweep on some Maybelline Color Tattoo in 25 Bad to the Bronze.
- With the intensity of the gold my green felt washed out so I reached for my Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Eye Shadow Palette. I used the matte deep emerald green with a flat brush to densely pack on the pigment from the middle of my lid to my already smoked out outer corner.
-  Using the Maybelline Fit Me Shine- Free Foundation in 120 classic ivory, I cleaned up around my eyes and concealed parts of my nose a bit more.
- Then I grabbed my Sonia Kashuk lashes in Full Drama, I thinly applied a layer of the glue that comes with the set. While I waited for those to get tacky I lined my tight line and water line with Maybelline Define- A- Line in ebony black.
- After defining and applying my lashes I used the Rimmel Gel- Eyeliner in 001 black with an angled liner brush to create my wingtip and a small pointed brush to create my inner cat eye points.
- Then it was time to finish my face. I used my Maybelline Fit Me pressed powder in 330 toffee caramel with a domed powder brush to contour my cheeks, chin, and temples. Then with a small fluffy blending brush I lightly contoured the sides of my nose. For blush I used the smallest amount possible of Elf HD Blush in 83232 superstar onto the apples of my cheeks. At this point I pulled out my loose powder and brush and swiped on another coat to lower the pigmentation from the blush and contouring.
- To finish off the look I used my Rimmel Scandal Eyes Rockin' Curves in 001 black to lengthen and add volume to my lower lashes and to blend my top lashes with my falsies that I curled after the mascara had dried.
- Last but not least I sprayed on my NYX Matte Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray just to add a bit more durability for the day.
Thank you for taking the time to see my little pictorial of this look. I hope you enjoyed, and stay tuned for more future pictorials, vlogs, tips, tricks, tutorials, and reviews.
My Second Dramatic Makeup Look of the Day
For this look I finally decided to use my Sonia Kashuk lashes that I got from Target a couple weeks ago that don't have a name, of course I paired them with another set that I've used previously, because one is never enough. All shadows used are from the Maybelline New York 'The Nudes' palette. I applied the light gold shadow to my lid and blended some of the darker gold into my crease, and just to make the look pop more I used the dark brown shimmer shade in my outer v and blended the rest into my crease. To finish off the shadows I used the lightest shade in the top left of the palette to highlight my brow bone and blend away the harsh lines from the darker shadows. I also used it on the bridge of my nose and around my tear duct. For eyeliner I used my holy grail gel liner from Maybelline Eye Studios and the Define A Line pencil liner for my tight line and water line. To finish off my lashes I curled them before and after applying a light coat of Maybelline Mega Plush Volum Express.
Going backwards I used a generous amount of my moisturizer all over my face, after that dried I applied my Revlon PhotoReady Color Correcting primer just using my fingers instead of a brush. I did use a small concealer brush with the Maybelline Fit Me foundation in shade 120. Once that was built up to my preferred coverage I used a stippling brush to evenly apply the Rimmel Match Perfection liquid foundation in 101 classic ivory. To set that I used my favorite loose powder, Cover Girl Professional Loose Powder in 105 translucent fair, with a flat top powder brush. I contoured with the Maybelline Fit Me pressed powder in shade 360 mocha, now this powder is a bit too dark for my complexion so I tapped the majority of product off my angled brush and applied it on my temples, the hollows of my cheeks, under my jaw bone, and with a small fluffy blending brush I lightly contoured the sides of my nose up to my brows and around my nostrils to give an ultra defined look. When I realized the pigmentation was too dark I lightly blended in some of my loose powder with the same angled brush. Then I lightly dusted some Cover Girl Classic Color Blush in 590 soft mink on the sides of the apples of my cheeks, I'm really not a huge fan of over using blush. On the apples of my cheeks, cupid's bow, bridge of my nose, and center of my forehead I sparingly used the Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights in 100 bare light, with this product a little does go a very long way, once again I just used my finger tips to apply this product.
To finish off the look I used my new favorite lip product, the Cover Girl Outlast All- Day Lip color. This product actually lasts through meals and cigarette breaks and at some point in the future I will do a full review of it. For this look I used 760 twilight coffee and let it dry for around 30 to 45 seconds, then I went back in with 577 spiced latte and let it dry before applying the hydrating topcoat. With my small concealer brush I used Revlon PhotoReady Concealer in 002 light pale and cleaned up around the edges of my lips to really make them sharper.
All products I use are drugstore brands I used to be addicted to high end brands but sadly I simply can't afford them anymore. To remove all of these products I use the Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes in cucumber and sage for a very refreshing clean feeling, I also wash my face with my St Ives Apricot Scrub just to make sure all bits of product are off my face so my oily break out prone skin doesn't have any clogged pores at the end of the day.
Thank you for reading my dramatic makeup of the day application and product list. Stay tuned for more drugstore makeup that appears to be high end tutorials, reviews, and monthly product favs.
